It Begins!

Well, again.

The stalled AWI project moves forward, spent time today getting the first four AWI cavalry regiments underway - starting with the French and German ones to ensure they get done.  So, Prinz Ludwig Dragoons from Brunswick and Hesse-Kassel mounted Jaegers; St. Simon's Dragoons and Lauzan's Legion Hussars.

Our Thanksgiving plans were modest this year and a good thing, too, because wife got called in to work at 2:00 AM this morning, home at 4:30 AM, and then back again a little after 6:00 AM.  All because of rain and leaks - that's what happens when you're the boss (she is number three behind owner and administrator).

What with the ACW active again and working on the AWI, I've placed a couple of orders, one to Stone Mountain and one to Peter Pig.  And a big part of the Peter Pig order was for Old West buildings and a few figures.  And a cool addition in the Vietnam range, some 'native' figures that will work better for my Slightly Cracked Colonial female villagers than the figures I 'dragooned' in a while back.  These will be easier to paint as wearing grass skirts.

Now, hopefully, I really am done collecting figures and, for the most part, terrain.

Hope the not too distant new year will be kind to me hobby wise in providing time to work on my various collections of miniatures and model railroading as well as allowing more gaming time.  Photographs of the AWI cavalry when it is finished and based, etc.

Until I get other photos ready, here is one from a 2017 trip - Old West building, nicely chinked, great coloring, varied textures, that nice little cupola, and the loading boom out front.  Next time, I'll try and post a photo of my ACW game setup from the recent convention.

Carrying over from an earlier post (I think on one of those other blogs - see below), my future focus will be on the AWI, the Old West, and my Colonial collections with all else in either secondary, tertiary, or lesser status.  I ain't no spring rooster no more.
